The Practice Doctors Cain, Lackey and Maguire are continuing a practice which was started in the late 1940’s in downtown Charleston. In 2002 the practice moved just across the bridge to West Ashley in a new facility. The practice specializes in internal medicine, primarily adults over the age of 16. On any given day many of the people we see are elderly. The practice understands the importance of following our patients in the hospital. Hospital admission is to Roper Hospital (downtown) only and one of the doctors is in the hospital every day. We offer coverage after hours and have a well-established relationship with three other doctors to share this responsibility. This means a General Internist is always available should you need one. You will not hear automated telephone recordings at Cain, Lackey and Maguire and every effort is made to see you on time. We leave openings in our schedule to accommodate same day appointments. You will receive a reminder of your appointment the day before. As part of a larger group called – Lowcountry Medical Associates – we are able to offer laboratory and radiology services on site.
All patients are requested to consider the following:
Appointments - please try to be on time.If you are on time, we will not be late seeing the rest of our patients that day. If you cannot keep your appointment, please call as soon as possible.
Payment - please be prepared to pay the appropriate amount at the time of check out, including any co-pay required by your insurance.
Emergencies – please call us if you have an emergency instead of going to the Emergency Room.Some times a trip can be saved by discussing the problem with us over the telephone.
